Iowa Prison Industries (IPI) is seeking a creative, motivated professional to join our team as an Information Specialist 1 in our Des Moines Sales & Customer Service.
Under the direction of the Sales & Marketing Manager, this position will assist in the implementation of IPI's marketing plans by developing a variety of print materials, web design, marketing efforts, and social media postings.
Iowa Prison Industries, a division of the Department of Corrections, trains incarcerated individuals in our work programs skills needed to be successful citizens upon release.
IPI markets the products and services produced in our facilities to governmental agencies, colleges and universities, public and private school districts, and non-profit organizations.
General Duties Include:
Creates and publishes marketing and other informational materials including blog posts, newsletters, presentations, product brochures and catalogs, and emails to communicate information about IPI's programs, products and services, and events to customers, staff and associates and the public.
Design of information materials using digital graphics software and photography.
Implement email and postal mailings of marketing collateral; track and report effectiveness of all marketing efforts.
Updates IPI websites using e-commerce/content management software and digital graphics software.
Ensures product information is kept current.
Builds custom customer websites utilizing e-commerce software.
Implements IPI social media plans to promote IPI programs and products and services on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
Utilizes social media scheduling platform and digital graphics software.
Reports social media metrics monthly and makes recommendations to improve outcomes.
This position is part-time position at 18 hours per week.
Selectives 880 Marketing 6 months' experience, 12 semester hours, or a combination of both in marketing.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the general methods, principles and practices of marketing, including professional-level experience in an area or in areas of marketing, e.
g.
, promotions, public relations, event planning, advertising or other marketing-related discipline.
Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in journalism, public relations, graphic design, or communications.
2) Four years of full-time work experience in planning and developing content for dissemination through traditional media (newspapers, publications, radio, and television), websites, social media, and/or public speaking.
3) A total of four years of education (as described in number one) and/or full-time experience (as described in number two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
