National Alliance on Mental Illness - Iowa National Alliance on Mental Illness - Iowa Des Moines, IA Des Moines, IA Full-time Full-time $70,000 - $85,000 a year $70,000 - $85,000 a year Job Overview The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day and long-term strategic operations and administration of NAMI Iowa, including administration, finance, information technology, facilities, human resources, and data management.
Primary Duties Oversight and coordination of all administrative functions of NAMI Iowa's operations Development and implementation or delegation of all financial operations including revenue and expense coding, liaising with contracted accountants, accounts receivable and payable Oversight of employee benefits management including serving as the point of contact with NAMI Iowa's health insurance broker, flex savings company, and all others as assigned Serve as the point of contact and onsite administrator for all information technology assets and contracts Serve as the liaison with property owner and manager of all building- and facility-related issues Manage all vendor contracts including identifying appropriate vendors, communicating with vendors, and ensuring competitive pricing for all vendor-contracted services Serve as an administrator for all databases and platforms used for daily NAMI Iowa operations including but not limited to:
CRM system, NAMI portals, database management systems Supervise the Communication and Administrative Services Coordinator role Peripheral Duties Support NAMI Iowa programming through administrative functions including:
billing, data entry, form creation, information technology solutions Support NAMI Iowa development activities via CRM and other duties Contribute to the overall success of NAMI Iowa by supporting NAMI's strategic plan and fundraising goals Contribute to the overall success of NAMI Iowa by assuming delegated responsibilities for all NAMI Iowa events Identify and participate in professional development and improvement opportunities; fully engage in professional development and improvement opportunities when assigned Qualifications Required College degree or four years equivalent experience Experience working in a nonprofit, government, or human/social services setting Experience navigating databases Demonstrated and recent experience in Microsoft Office suite, virtual meeting platforms, and other IT solutions Professional experience managing vendor relationships Experience or interest in information technology solutions for nonprofits Experience or interest in human resources management Experience or interest in nonprofit financial management and bookkeeping Preferred Direct (professional or personal) experience with the Iowa mental and/or behavioral health system Professional experience in administrative or operations support of small to medium nonprofit organizations Skills and Traits Required Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills Self-starter, able to work independently Able to identify gaps and needs, and create and implement new initiatives Team-oriented, collaborative work style Strong organizational and time-management skills Meticulous attention to detail and excellent follow-through High degree of professional and personal ethics with understanding of need for confidentiality Passionate about and committed to the NAMI Iowa mission Job Type:
