The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Department of Human Services (DHS) merged on July 1, 2022, to form one agency, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
We are seeking a WIC Operations Director (Executive Officer 2).
This position serves as the WIC Operations Director within the Bureau of Nutrition and Physical Activity, administering the business operations of the WIC Program.
The WIC Operations Director works in collaboration with the WIC Clinic Services Director to accomplish the day-to-day administration of the State WIC Program at the direction of the State WIC Director.
Acts as the Team Lead for WIC Technical Operations and Food Delivery teams, performing non-supervisory program management work directing team workload, performance management and project oversight at the direction of the State WIC Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to instructing employees, answering questions, distributing and balancing the workload, developing and coordinating projects and initiatives in compliance with all policies and regulations.
Business process improvement responsibilities include but is not limited to drafting and implementing new and revised procedures and overseeing the performance of the WIC operations teams.

Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to four years of full-time professional-level work in program administration, program development, program operations , or management.
2) A total of eight years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
3) All of the following (a, b, and c):
a.
Two years of full-time professional-level work experience in program administration, program development, program operations , or management; andb.
A total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience; andc.
A total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university course work in a public-service-related area (e.

, public or business administration, social work, public health, law, education, engineering) equals one year of full-time experience.
Graduation from the Iowa Certified Public Manager Program is also equivalent to one year of full-time experience or education.
