N Position Type Management JOB SUMMARY Accountable for the development and delivery of enterprise commerce services in the areas of cart, order and payments and integrations with central reservation systems and other internal and third-party fulfillment systems.
Follows and provides input to standard application development tools and processes to promote the product quality for highly scalable transaction processing systems.
This position leads the engineering team for building the cart, order and payments services, central reservation systems integration, and other internal and third-party fulfillment integration systems for Marriott.
Implements and manages continuous improvement programs to improve quality, consistency.
The role is an engineering leadership role with direct report of multiple Directors.
It is self-starter role and partners very closely with the Digital products and Commerce products teams to lead the build solutions and engineering for the related product services in an incremental way.
The role works in a close collaboration with several teams, such as, Commerce Business teams, Enterprise Architecture teams, Cloud Infra and Dev Ops teams, and the other Shared Platform and Enterprise Architecture teams.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Key Required Skills:

years of application development leadership experience, including:

Direct experience leading technology teams in defining, creating, and supporting enterprise-scale solutions in two or more of ecommerce areas of cart, order and payments.

Knowledge and background in hospitality industry with deep knowledge in one or more central reservation systems is a must.

Strong knowledge of general industry trends, technologies, and platforms
Strong background in integrations space
Background in cloud native microservices, domain driven microservices, and building event-oriented architectures.

years of Experience with API management with Akana and microservices using Play/Akka and Spring Boot/Webflux.

Strong knowledge of standards governing payment, hospitality and travel industry related ecommerce.

Graduate/post graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related areas
Knowledge of security and privacy frameworks and regulatory standards.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy-to-understand business terms
Knowledge of business environment, service requirements and hospitality culture
Demonstrated experience in Agile development methodologies, specifically with large-scale initiatives and geographically distributed teams
Preferred experience in working within and leading multiple squads in cross functional, sourced, or matrixed product teams
Experience with architectural frameworks and the various approaches to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience in establishing standards and best practices and nurturing team talent and skills
Experience working with consulting companies to lead the technology solution, application development, and operations for $5M
of efforts Other Preferred:

Works with the Architecture and Development lead to facilitate consistency of service delivery across client groups
Builds and maintains a standard set of application development tools and processes that will drive consistency and predictability throughout the SDLC for all client groups including:

Estimating standard tools and processes, incorporating flexibility for small and large projects
Deployment standard tools and processes
Monitors projects for adherence to defined application development processes
Works with IT organization to create broader IT related and corporate standards and policies where necessary
Communicates important application development policy changes that affect service provider and/or Marriott operations Managing Day-To-Day Relationships with IT Teams
Manages application development projects in partnership with IT teams, Digital partners, Commerce partners and providers
Provides overall project management of business projects/portfolios
Manages day-to day relationships with all IT teams to promote the delivery of services that meet or exceed the client expectations
Monitors all projects for alignment with defined business case process
Drives timely resolution of escalated service delivery problems and minimizes the impact of any client service delivery issues
Defines, manages, and improves service level reporting for application development
Provides early warning to the appropriate regarding degraded or missed service levels
Leads application development and maintenance of service provider project management standards and tools
Participates in client portfolio and demand management processes, and engages service providers to promote client satisfaction
Works with application development service providers
Validates that the service provider(s) performs the services agreed to by the master services agreement in a manner that is consistent with both the spirit and the letter of the agreement
Works with all IT teams to progress the service providers services to match client needs
Facilitates team and service provider compliance with the agreement
Defines and facilitates service levels to meet business needs
Supports the IT organization
Participates in the creation and maintenance of ITs business strategy and planning
Supports and follows defined IT Governance decision rights, standards and practices
Emphasizes accuracy and effectiveness of estimating and planning management with team

In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.
