News Clerk - Sports

The Sports Clerk provides support for the sports department call center on nights and weekends; compiles sports information from the phone, email and web; and inputs data into computer system. They will write, re-write, assemble and publish boxscores, summaries and roundups of sporting events, including high school, college and local pro sports. This person will also deliver content for digital and print platforms while meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Compile sports information from the phone, email and web.
Write, re-write and assemble content that is accurate, timely and concise, including but not limited to boxscores, summaries, roundups, calendars, listings and briefs.
Meet deadlines.
Provide great customer service.
Perform other duties as necessary.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
