00 I searched all over for a 928 in my favorite exterior color, Guards Red, that was in excellent shape with good miles.
Finally, I found it in Milwaukee WI in September of 2022.
I flew one way to meet the previous owner and drove it all the way home to DSM IA.
Under his ownership it spent winters garaged in northern Wisconsin & summers in Milwaukee.
He and I both took great care of it, and it shows.
He told me that the guy he got it from used to drive it in parades in Milwaukee every year, though I obviously can't prove this.
I have the original manual & record book.
It was purchased on 9-29-1980 at Jefford's Porsche & Audi in Brookfield Wisconsin.
It was then serviced 9 times at said dealership until 1986.
From 86 to 91 there are service records in the book, though they say owner in the dealer stamp section.
I don't have any records from the previous owner.
I replaced the battery this month (Feb 24), replaced the passenger window regulator in 22, replaced the front tires in 23, and have done various other normal maintenance items on it.
This is either the best kept original paint I've ever seen, or it has been repainted at some point.
I'm thinking it was repainted within the last 10 years.
Paint and body is in awesome shape.
Interior is in good shape.
Both front seats have some wear & minor tears on the seat bottoms.
Seat motors work on both sides.
I would give the interior a 7.
5/10.
The engine & undercarriage are both incredibly clean.
I will try and get it on a lift to photo the underside.
It starts right up every time.
Runs great.
Shifts great.
Drives nice and smooth.
Brakes might need some attention in the near future, but you can drive it anywhere you'd like just how it is.
Front tires have full tread, rear tires have just about.
Power mirrors work as they should.
Windows work.
Power seats work.
AC blows but not cold.
Aftermarket Sony radio works great & the antenna goes up and down fine.
Cruise control works.
Car comes with the service records I mentioned, a small bottle of guards red lackstift paint, old purchase agreements, Blankput radio manual, original owners manual.
I only have the one key for it.
It does drip some oil after it's been run and parked for a little bit.
I've also noticed a faint gas smell if left in the garage without air flow for a while.
Overall this is a beautiful, well taken care of 928 that can be driven today & loved all summer long! I am an auto dealer, it's registered under my business, though it has never been for sale before or parked anywhere but my garage.
Thanks for looking!.
